The City of Eagle River Department of Public Works strives for the best performance of duties in service to the taxpayers and visitors of Eagle River.

These duties include but are not limited to maintaining and repairing of our streets, sidewalks, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, sidewalks, curb & gutter. Tasks also include snow & ice removal and the upkeep of four (5) parks, a beach and a beach house, tree removal, brushing and mowing of right of ways, street sweeping, animal control and many other year round tasks.

Street repairs & maintenance: patching, crack patching, snow removal, street painting and striping, street sign maintenance, parking meter placement & removals, weekly street sweeping to keep city & storm sewers clean of sand & debris. Curb & gutter repairs and replacement as needed. 

Sewer repairs & maintenance: manhole repairs and maintenance, running of sewer mains, repair of sewer mains to prevent back ups. Installing new sewer mains and manholes.

Storm sewer repairs & maintenance: bi-annual cleaning of all storm sewer catch basins, repair of collapsed pipes and repairs of catch basins. Maintaining proper storm water drainage and discharge.

Sidewalk repair & maintenance: The Department inspects sidewalks yearly for any irregularities and fractures then sends notice for repairs either by city employees or private contractor.

Parks: The City has five parks and one beach which has a beach house and piers. Two of the five parks have restrooms which are cleaned and resupplied daily. The parks are mowed during the summer months. Riverview park has a pavilion and band shelter along with benches, picnic tables and playground equipment which is maintained throughout the summer months.
