Beginning August 19th, the City of Eagle River will be re-surfacing portions of Birch Street (from Spruce to Maple) and Maple Street (from Birch to Main, and Third to Silver Lake). The construction will include milling the top layer of asphalt off the existing roadway and replacing it with new blacktop, and replacing curbs where necessary.
We do not have an exact duration for the construction, but it is expected to be complete no later than October 31, 2024. At times, roads may be closed to through traffic, but intersections will remain open. Please be aware that the project will bring noise and dust to both Birch and Maple Streets within the City Limits, and there may be times when you’ll need to navigate around equipment and workers. Please be mindful of your speed and watch your surroundings during construction to help keep everyone safe.
During construction, City Hall traffic will be detoured to park in the rear of City Hall and come in the back doors.
